What Is Dithiophosphate 25?

Dithiophosphate 25 (DTP-25) is a commercial formulated dithiophosphate collector product at an approximately 25–35% active content level in aqueous solution. It is a member of the “DTP series” collector range widely supplied to the mining industry as pre-formulated products that simplify plant handling compared to working with pure DTP acids or salts at high concentration. DTP-25 contains a blend of dialkyl dithiophosphate actives (typically short to medium alkyl chain lengths) and provides reliable collector performance across a range of sulphide ore types.

Flotation Applications and Use

DTP-25 is used as a standalone collector or co-collector in copper, lead, zinc, and gold sulphide flotation circuits. Its pre-diluted, water-miscible form allows direct addition to the flotation circuit via metering pumps without the dissolution tanks required for pellet xanthates. It is suitable for conditioning in the mill or flotation feed box. DTP-25 can be used alongside xanthate collectors to take advantage of DTP selectivity for iron sulphide depression while maintaining the overall collecting power of the xanthate component.
