Caprolactam as the Nylon-6 Monomer
Caprolactam is the cyclic amide monomer that undergoes ring-opening polymerisation to produce nylon-6 (PA6), one of the most important engineering thermoplastics and synthetic textile fibers globally. Nylon-6 fiber is used in hosiery, carpeting, sportswear, and tyre cord. PA6 engineering compounds are used in automotive parts, gears, bearings, and cable sheaths. Supply and Packaging
Caprolactam is typically shipped as a melt in heated road tankers or as flakes in 25 kg paper sacks on pallets. We work with major producers to source material meeting the exacting specifications required by PA6 polymerisation plants. COA and SDS are provided with each shipment.
