PVA in Textile and Paper Applications
Polyvinyl alcohol is produced by hydrolysis of polyvinyl acetate and is available in grades ranging from partially hydrolysed (88 mol%, good adhesion and flexibility) to fully hydrolysed (99 mol%, best oxygen barrier and water resistance). Textile manufacturers use PVA to size warp yarns before weaving, reducing breakage on the loom and improving weavability. Paper mills use PVA in surface sizing and coating to improve surface strength and printability.
Grade Selection and Supply
Terracore stocks multiple PVA grades covering low, medium, and high viscosity ranges in both partially and fully hydrolysed specifications. Available in 25 kg bags on pallets. COA reports hydrolysis degree, viscosity, and ash content. SDS is provided.
