Diethyl Ketone as an Industrial Solvent

Diethyl ketone (3-pentanone) is a symmetrical ketone with excellent solvency for nitrocellulose, chlorinated rubber, and many synthetic resins. It offers a faster evaporation rate than methyl isobutyl ketone and is used to balance solvent blends in coatings and printing inks. Its mild, sweet odor and relatively low toxicity make it preferable in enclosed manufacturing environments.

Packaging and Availability
