Propylene Carbonate in Energy Storage and Process Industries

Propylene carbonate is a cyclic carbonate with high polarity, good chemical stability, and a wide liquid range — properties that make it ideal as an electrolyte co-solvent in lithium-ion batteries. In gas treatment, it is used in the Fluor Solvent process to remove CO₂ and sulfur compounds from natural gas and syngas streams. The cosmetics industry uses it as a spreading agent and solvent for active ingredients.

Battery-Grade and Technical Supply

Terracore supplies both battery-grade PC (ultra-low moisture and metal-ion content) and standard technical grade. Battery-grade material is packed under dry nitrogen in 200 L steel drums. Technical grade is available in IBCs for industrial use. Full COA and SDS are provided.
