What Is Sodium Ascorbate?

Sodium ascorbate is the sodium salt of ascorbic acid (vitamin C), providing all the biological activity of vitamin C in a non-acidic, more stable, and more water-soluble form. The neutral pH makes it better tolerated in drinking water dosing and liquid supplements than ascorbic acid, which can irritate mucous membranes and precipitate in combination with calcium-containing solutions.
