15-5-30 PLUS Water-Soluble NPK Blend South Africa

About the 15-5-30 PLUS Blend

The 15-5-30 PLUS NPK blend is a high-potassium formulation designed for the maturation phase of fruit and vegetable production. Potassium drives sugar loading into fruit, regulates cell turgor, and controls stomatal function in the canopy. The high K₂O ratio (30%) relative to phosphorus (5%) and nitrogen (15%) reflects the elevated potassium demand during fruit fill and ripening. The PLUS designation includes chelated micronutrients to ensure complete nutrition during this critical quality-determining phase.

Application in Crop Programs

The 15-5-30 blend is typically introduced at fruit set and continued through the maturation phase, often replacing higher-phosphorus blends used earlier in the season. In stone fruit and table grape programs, it is run from 6–8 weeks before harvest. In tomato and pepper programs, it replaces the 19-6-20 or 20-20-20 blends at the onset of colour change. The high potassium content complements calcium programs to improve fruit firmness and extend shelf life in export-grade produce.
