Trichloroethylene in Industrial Degreasing
Trichloroethylene has been the workhorse chlorinated solvent in metal manufacturing for decades. Its high solvency for oils, greases, and waxes, combined with its non-flammability and high boiling point relative to DCM, makes it ideal for vapor-degreasing applications. It is also the chemical precursor for HFC-134a refrigerant. Global regulatory trends are increasingly restricting its use; Terracore can advise on alternatives for specific applications.
Supply and Compliance
We supply TCE in 200 L steel drums and 1,000 L IBCs with full TDG documentation. Buyers are required to confirm end-use application in writing. SDS covering cancer hazard classification, exposure limits, and PPE requirements is provided.
Applications
- Metal parts degreasing
- Aerosol propellant formulations
- Textile scouring and cleaning
- Chemical intermediate for HFC-134a
- Adhesive and rubber solvent
- Industrial equipment cleaning
