Che cosa è l'urea?

Urea (CH₄N₂O) is the most widely used solid nitrogen fertilizer in the world, containing 46% nitrogen by weight. It is produced synthetically from ammonia and carbon dioxide and is available as white granular or prilled product. Its high nitrogen content and water solubility make it suitable for direct soil application, incorporation into blended NPK fertilizers, and dissolution for fertigation use.

Urea in Fertilizer Blending

As a nitrogen carrier, urea is the benchmark material for calculating nitrogen cost efficiency in fertilizer blends. It is fully compatible with most phosphate and potassium sources in dry blends when applied shortly after mixing. Formulators use urea in combination with ammonium sulphate, MAP, DAP, and potassium sources to build compound NPK grades. For liquid fertilizer, urea is dissolved with ammonium nitrate to produce UAN solution.
