The 13-40-13 PLUS water-soluble NPK blend is formulated for the high-phosphorus demands of early plant development. Phosphorus is critical for root initiation, cell division, and energy transfer (ATP) during the first weeks after transplanting or germination. The balanced nitrogen and potassium content at 13% each supports initial vegetative growth while the 40% P₂O₅ drives root system establishment. The PLUS designation indicates the inclusion of trace element packages (micronutrient chelates) to support complete crop nutrition from the start.

The 13-40-13 blend is typically used in the early stages of a multi-stage fertigation program, running for 2–4 weeks after transplanting or during seedling establishment. It is compatible with most water-soluble fertilizers when diluted to a stock solution concentration of 1–2 kg per 100 L. For foliar application, a 0.5–1% solution is standard. The blend is suitable for a wide range of crops including tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, leafy vegetables, and field crops grown under irrigation.
