Potato Protein Feed Grade Supplier South Africa

Čo je zemiakový proteín?

Potato protein is a concentrated by-product of potato starch production, recovered from potato fruit water (PFW) through heat coagulation. With a protein content exceeding 80% on a dry matter basis, it has an amino acid profile superior to many plant proteins, with relatively high lysine, methionine, and tryptophan content. Potato protein concentrate is an emerging ingredient in high-quality animal nutrition, particularly valued for its low anti-nutritional factor content compared to legume-based proteins.

Úloha vo výžive zvierat

Potato protein is gaining traction as a high-quality fishmeal replacement in aquaculture diets due to its amino acid balance, high digestibility, and absence of the anti-nutritional factors common in soy. In swine nutrition, it offers an allergen-free, highly digestible protein source suitable for piglet starter diets. In pet food, potato protein provides a novel protein source for hypoallergenic formulations. Ongoing research confirms its potential as a premium plant protein across multiple species.
