What Is Pharmaceutical-Grade Talc?

Talc is a naturally occurring hydrous magnesium phyllosilicate mineral with the formula Mg₃Si₄O₁₀(OH)₂. It is the softest mineral known (Mohs hardness 1) and has a characteristic greasy, soapy feel. Pharmaceutical-grade talc is produced from selected, asbestos-free talc deposits and is processed to eliminate impurities, including any trace fibrous minerals, producing a pure, fine white to light grey powder.
